A few years before Covid, I followed some Instagram influencer type for several months as she ate her way through Southern Italy. Pizza, of course, but also Calabrian bergamots and regional gelato flavors like Prickly Pear and Mulberry. Her life was all pleasure and I sunk right in like a flea along for the ride.
I’m not in Berlin on vacation nor am I (usually) focused only on eating but I love hearing that people are living vicariously through my adventures. I’m always curious, though, where they would want to go? So, let’s play a bit.
Assume all expenses were taken care of and you didn’t need to work. Assume any other needs you had were met (childcare, caregiving, mobility or health needs). Assume language and borders weren’t barrier. Assume you could take a year or six months or three months.
I would go back to Munich, where I would enjoy walking all over the city and it’s beautiful parks. I would also travel to Switzerland for hiking and skiing, and other parts of Europe that are close by and easy to access. I would eat at all the wonderful restaurants and learn more German so I could communicate better when I travelled to the Bavarian area.
Right now I’m spending a month on a beautiful Caribbean island, and though it’s a wonderful experience, I think Northern Europe has my heart.
Mmmmm… I love how well thought out your adventure is, Ursula. And, gosh, Northern European adventure with hiking and delicious food sounds right up your alley. Delightful! Thanks for sharing.
I love the Florida Keys. A little house on a canal in Tavernier is my happy place. Though for this game, I would go somewhere I've never been...say Ireland or Australia.
I had a feeling I'd hear you chime in with "England", Melissa! With your deep love of all things history, you'd have a ball. Hope you can make it happen one day.

It's bold to choose somewhere you'd never been before, Phoebe!! That's a fun twist on this idea. Thanks for sharing!
England. I would write and travel all over, soaking in the culture, the history, the vibe. I'd have the time of my life!
